Spring 2010 brings an exclusive secret exhibition in London which will be administered by children. Children from St Vincent’s Catholic Primary have investigated the collection at Wallace which is not only eclectic but also fascinating. The kids have worked with the staff of Wallace Collection and chosen a selection of objects with a hidden secret.
The Secret Unveiled
Though Wallace Collection inhabits many treasures which have been exhibited for years but now for the first time they have revealed a unique assortment of objects and art and all have a secret attached. Wallace Collection will feature the most enigmatic bits which include paintings, furniture, armors and ceramics and will lead to delight and intrigue.
Nippers’ Attraction
This exhibition is surely going to be a hit among the nippers of London as the articles which will be shown are chosen by themselves. Extricating the mysteries of some enthralling pieces, the children have selected secretive and unusual articles like gold snuffbox which hides two miniature pictures of Voltaire and his lover. These kids have made themselves involved with in almost every aspect of this secret exhibition from choosing objects and themes and made this a highlight for half term visits.
Secret Highlights
There are hidden panels along with secret sliding sections in many of the objects at the exhibition. Theses sections when unveiled reveal the real function of the article. The children involved in organizing the event were fascinated by an oak desk which features dummy book spines and also by a secret drawer same as it was done by a picture titled The Listening Housewife who sits with her finger to the lips in the classic “Shh it’s a secret” pose. The mystery loving fans will also be interested in learning how Madame de Serilly had escaped the guillotine
